Heavy and Hilarious

Heavy. That’s the way I would describe the last few weeks. But then today happened. Hilarious. That’s how I would describe today. The circumstances surrounding my heavy and hilarious really don’t matter, because we all have daily examples of our very own heavy and hilarious, don’t we?

Life will always have ups and downs. In John 16:33, Jesus tells us, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

When the heavy tries to weigh you down, remember you have a Father in heaven who sees you. He holds your tears and wraps His love around you like a blanket. He also puts people in your path to love and encourage you, and to laugh with you when life is funny. But then there are other times when He puts you in the path of another, so that you may love and support that person.

What a beautiful tapestry when God weaves people’s lives together, and you really can’t tell if you are the one being encouraged or if you are the encourager! So look around you, friends, and jump in and join others right smack in the middle of their heavy and hilarious. If we truly embraced this idea, there wouldn’t be much room left in the world for anything beside love!
