Let Me Introduce Myself!

What would you say if given the opportunity to introduce yourself to a large crowd? Of course, you would start with your name, but what else would you say? Would you tell them something about your family, your occupation, your interests?

How about this for an opening: “Hi my name is (insert your name), and I am a servant. “ Maybe not the most impressive thing you could say, or is it?

Check out James 1:1. It beings “James, a servant…” but then it goes on. “James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ.” Now that’s what I call an introduction!

Listen, friends, this guy was the half brother of Jesus! There are so many things he could have said about himself, and yet he chose the word servant. What a lesson in humility, and what a powerful example to all of us!

In a world that clamors for attention and feeds on fame, dare to rock your servant status. Be the quiet voice of humility, the heart always filled with love, and the soul who always longs to look after the needs of others.
