Shut Up and Shout Out

Shut up!” Did anyone else grow up not being allowed to say these words? We weren’t allowed to say it, because it isn’t nice. But do you know what else isn’t nice? Satan’s lies.

It’s so easy to get caught up and bogged down in his lies, isn’t it? He whispers them ever so quietly in our ears, and the more we listen, the more he distracts us. If we don’t stay on guard, he will slip in and cause us to doubt.

Listen, friend. You are beautiful. You are enough. You are chosen. You were made for such a time as this. You are EVERYTHING to God. In fact, you are so important to Him, that He sent His only Son to die on a cross to save you. You are precious. You are loved. But Satan doesn’t want you to know any of those things.

Here’s what you have to do. Stop. Stop listening to Satan. Stop letting him discourage you. And don’t just stop. Tell Satan to stop, too. Tell him to shut his mouth and leave you alone. In fact, tell him to shut up!

But don’t end it there. Because that’s not where the story ends. Turn away from your “shut up” and turn into a shout out. Bust out in a song of praise. Give God a shout out for all He has done for you. I can guarantee the devil will pack his bags and head out of town, and you’ll be so busy praising you won’t even see him go!
